MY ACTION TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE SO THEY WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS IN OUR SURROUNDINGS

Social problem is a condition that is not expected and is considered to be detrimental to social life and contrary to social standards that have been agreed. Social problems arise due to significant differences between the values ​​in the society with the reality. The source of social problems such as social process and natural disasters. The social problem occurs because of a mismatch between the elements of culture or society, which endangers the lives of social groups. If there is a clash between the existing elements can cause disruption of social relationships such as shakiness in the life of a group or society.

Current problems in society is very complex. The problem is becoming increasingly severe. The problems that occur in the community include:

- Poverty

- Unemployment

- Education

- Security

- Environmental pollution

- Garbage

POVERTY

Poverty is a situation where there is an inability to fulfill basic needs such as food, clothes, shelter, education, and health. Poverty can be caused by the scarcity of basic needs fulfillment tool, or the difficulty of access to education and employment. Poverty is a global problem. Most people understand this term is subjective and comparative, while others see it in terms of moral and evaluative, and others understand it from a scientific point established, etc..

Poverty does not only happen in rural areas, but also occurs in urban / big city that usually promises luxury, wealth, and prosperity. For example, in Jakarta, there are often found homes along the river. The houses are not well organized and it looks grungy. With the poverty they face, they are difficult to live in a decent house and not be in a rundown. They are forced to remain in their homes even if they feel uncomfortable the conditions they experienced. As for the meal and daily needs they can not meet properly. Clothing they have is very simple and modest. With this condition, they can not run a healthy lifestyle.

Actions that I would do so that people willing to participate in reducing and alleviating poverty is, I would give understanding to the community that we need to act to help our brothers in need. Because of the help they can anticipate the bad things caused by poverty, such as the occurrence of criminal acts due to economic pressures. Giving such understanding slowly can increase the awareness of people to help others. If people already have the awareness to help others, then the burden of the people who can not afford their needs can be reduced. And creates a peaceful life because there is mutual respect, appreciate, and cherish one another.

UNEMPLOYMENT

Unemployment arises because much of the population is not matched by the number of jobs available. Indonesia actually had a favorite place for entrepreneurs from abroad to build their businesses here. By reason of the low cost of labor is one of the factors why Indonesia targeted by foreign entrepreneurs. However, apparently it is not offset by the positive support from the government on setting up Law of investment and employment. As a result, the unemployment rate in Indonesia is increasing. The increase in unemployment is also due to the inability to create jobs by themselves. This is also compounded by the lack of people who have skills in the work, and the labor / less educated and trained. Thus labor can not be absorbed in the labor available. Unemployment that just sit in the house will only be a burden to her family because he has enough age to work but does not have a job to help ease the economic burden of the family.

With rising of unemployment as it is today, then I would do the steps in order to reduce unemployment is to involve the participation of others. Other people are entrepreneurs and self-employed. The entrepreneurs and the self-employed I recommend to expand its business by opening multiple branches to expand its business. With increasing business branches opened so many workers absorbed. It is like a symbiotic mutualism, because entrepreneurs and self-employed get a bigger profit and those who initially unemployed to get a job to ease the economic burden of the family. In addition, I will communicate with people around and with people who are still being unemployed to work setting up the business. For example, open a business / shop that manufacture accessories and knick-knacks from recycled materials.

EDUCATION

Indonesia is a country whose level of education is quite low in the world if compared with other countries. Especially things going in the environment around us, there are still going problems about education. For example, the lack of adequate school facilities, high cost of education, lack of qualified teachers, student learning outcomes that are less satisfying, as well as public awareness is still low on education. There are so many children who should be school, but they're actually busy helping their parents to work for a living. Surely they (the children of Indonesia) want to feel like another children who are schooling. But the economic situations of their parents make them to bury their desire. Although the government has disbursed funds of BOS, but in reality there are a lot of kids on the streets when school hours. Parents are also there who think that the school only costs, labor, and time, but according to their cost, power, and time they can use to teach their children to work to continue their work. The parents did not really realize that education is important for their children’s future. Their awareness of the importance of education is still low.

The issue of education is not easy to solve, but it is not impossible that the problem is solved. Moreover, the problem of education is going on in our surroundings. To solve these problems required the participation and support of all parties. Not only the government who responsible, but also the society. Because society also involved in the course of education. Therefore, I would like to increase public participation in solving problems related to education so that the problem can be quickly solved. Step I would do is to provide education and the understanding of the significance of education for the future. By education, it is expected to increase citizen awareness and their participation will increase. If they have participated then in they can work together to improve school facilities improvement fund by contributing. Then the community not underestimating the education itself.

SECURITY

The issue of security began to appear as a crime that is an effect of poverty. When this happens it is a high crime rate, especially in large urban areas. Types of crimes committed are also diverse, in terms of motives and how. But most of what happened was a crime arising from economic factors. This happens not only in people who are less educated, but educated people were also sometimes included in the list of people who commit criminal acts. For example, bullying, fights, etc.. And the security problem that is occur in villages such as theft and robbery. It is very disturbing residents. Citizens became feel anxious and did not feel comfortable.

Therefore, the participation of citizens in maintaining security is needed. And actions to increase the participation of citizens in maintaining the security of one of them is to advise community leaders in order to coordinate their citizens to conduct night patrolling in order to safeguard the possibility of theft can be minimized and to increase comfort for all citizens. Not only outside the home environment should get guarding, but occupants of the house should always be vigilant and careful, and not negligent in his supervision. And if people see anything suspicious related to security at his neighbor's house while the neighbor does not know about the security problem happened in his house, then citizens must act quickly to avoid the bad things. The security can also be realized with a sense of belonging and mutual maintain. Therefore creating a safe, comfortable, and conducive to the society.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

Environmental pollution there are four, that is water pollution, air, soil, and noise. Water can be contaminated due to human activities, such as throwing garbage into the river and catch fish using pesticides. Rivers, lakes, or reservoirs also become polluted when the factories dump waste into the industry there. Pollution is resulting in the death of fish and other creatures that live in water. Finally, the man also suffered losses. Air pollution caused by car fumes and smoke of the  factories. The air we breathe is the very dirty air. Imagine what happens to our lungs if we breathe air so dirty like that. Soil can also be contaminated, pollutants can come from waste plastics and harmful metals. Noise pollution from disturbing noises sound particularly unusual vehicles passing on the highway.

Actions I wanted to do to increase community participation in reducing the adverse impacts of environmental pollution that is inviting them to discuss and take real action to reduce pollution. Once an agreement is reached, then the participation of citizens in cooperation realized action taken, for example by encouraging people to plant trees, clean the gutters, clean up garbage village, etc..

GARBAGE

One of the social problems facing society is trash. The trash problem is very annoying, especially if not managed properly. For rural communities, the waste may not be a serious problem. But, not so with the people who live in cities or in densely populated areas. Urban and densely populated areas produce a lot of waste. Garbage piled up soon if not immediately transported to the Final Place of Disposal (TPA) waste. The government in this case the Department of Hygiene, assume responsibility for managing waste. Garbage piled cause odor. Garbage piled up can be a source of infectious diseases. For example, vomiting defecation (diarrhea and vomiting), skin, lungs, and breathing. Other problems associated with trash is a bad habit of littering. In many places a lot of ordinary people who throw garbage into rivers and waterways. Rivers and streams become clogged. Consequently, when heavy rains often flood.

The issues of garbage above are caused by human factors, therefore public participation in resolving garbage problem is required. And I will increase public participation by talking to them and giving them of understanding, that there will be a bigger problem if the waste piles are not immediately discarded. And I'll give understanding to the people living near the river not to throw garbage in the river. Because the river full of rubbish only create inconvenience for everyone.

            In short, to increase public participation in solving the problems that occur in our surroundings is to communicate, deliberation, and discuss it with them. Providing understanding and in our society we have a common goal that is always feel comfortable, happy, and prosperous. In the life of society is necessary for mutual understanding and cooperation so that the existing problems can be quickly resolved with face it together.
